These Soft Amaretti with Lemon from Chiostro di Sarono are incredibly sweet and soft almond cookies with a subtle lemon lift. They are individually flow-packed and then wrapped in elegant tissue paper and placed in an elegant yellow window cardbox.
The invention of this amaretto is linked with the small town of Saranno located in the Lombardia region and dates to the early 18th century. The legend says that a young couple, residents of Saranno, made and gifted these cookies made of sugar, egg whites, and crushed apricot kernels to welcome the Milanese cardinal that went to visit their town.
Enjoy Amaretti with espresso, or as a sweet snack during the day. Also enjoy them with a sweet glass of wine after a meal.
